Virginia Beach man killed, another seriously injured in Currituck crash
One Virginia Beach resident has died and another is in critical condition after the SUV they were in crossed the center lane and turn lane on 158 in Currituck County near Shortcut Road, sideswiped a van and then struck a Dominion Power truck. The crash occurred on Monday, July 1 at about 3 p.m.
Fuel tanker catches fire in Virginia Beach
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — No one was hurt after a fuel tanker caught fire and leaked fuel in Virginia Beach on Monday. The Virginia Beach Fire Department said it happened in the 3500 block of Cellar Door Way, near Dam Neck Road. A fuel tanker truck caught fire, and its fuel tank ruptured in the process. Hazmat crews were able to stop the leak, and the remaining diesel and gasoline were safely transferred to other trucks that were standing by.

CHESAPEAKE, Va. — A police chase in Chesapeake ended with a woman getting taken into custody on Tuesday, police said. Chesapeake police said an officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop around 12:16 p.m. on Military Highway near Micheal Drive because the license plates did not belong on the vehicle.
Virginia man driving a stolen vehicle leads officers on a vehicle pursuit
Officers from KPD's B-Squad received information related to a vehicle being driven with a stolen license plate. Officers located the vehicle in the area of W King Street and S Herritage Street. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop and the driver failed to stop and fled from officers. The driver led officers on a vehicle pursuit before crashing into a utility pole on the 300 block of W Washington Avenue. The driver jumped from the vehicle and fled on foot.
