Willie Nelson To Miss Virginia Beach Stop On ‘Outlaw Music Festival Tour’ Tonight Due To Ongoing Illness

Bummer. It was just announced this afternoon that Willie Nelson will not be performing at the show in Virginia Beach, Virginia this evening that is part of the 2024 Outlaw Music Festival Tour which also includes Bob Dylan, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss and Celisse. He already missed the first weekend of shows last weekend, which included stops in Alpharetta, Georgia and Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina, after his team said he wasn't feeling well, and per doctor’s orders, had to rest for the first run of concerts. Willie's son Lukas filled in for him during those first three shows, and remarked during the stop in Charlotte that his dad was feeling a lot better. But he's clearly not feeling 100% quite yet, and Lukas will once again fill in tonight, performing with the Family band and previously scheduled openers: "Willie Nelson will not be performing at tonight's show in Virginia Beach. We expect Willie to return to the tour shortly. Bob Dylan, Robert Plant, Alison Krauss and Celisse will perform as scheduled. In addition, Lukas Nelson and Family along with some special guests will play his own set which will include Willie Nelson classics and other songs." I mean, the fact that he continues to go the way he does at 91 years old is incredibly impressive, and if I know anything about him at all, I’m sure he can’t wait to be on the road again ASAP.
