Willie Nelson 's team has provided fans with another update on the country star's health after he was forced to cancel a number of recent performances.

After missing several shows while touring for the Outlaw Music Festival last week, Nelson's team uploaded another statement on social media to share that the musician would be unable to play the show scheduled in Virginia Beach, Va. on Wednesday, June 26.

"Willie Nelson will not be performing at tonight's show in Virginia Beach," read the statement posted to Nelson's official Instagram account on Wednesday, providing a glimmer of hope as it added, "We expect Willie to return to the tour shortly."

In the meantime, fans will still get a taste of Nelson's music as Lukas Nelson and Family, along with some special guests, will be performing a set to "include Willie's classics and other songs."

The other artists on the tour, including Bob Dylan , Robert Plant , Alison Krauss and Celisse , are expected to "perform as scheduled," according to the statement.

So far, Nelson has missed out on four shows on the tour after his team said he was "not feeling well," and per instructions from his doctor, was "advised to rest."

Last week, the statement on behalf of the "Riders in the Sky" crooner said he was expected to "make a quick recovery," and rejoin the tour in a week's time.

But his team has yet to share an exact date for Nelson's return, prompting his fans to grow increasingly concerned.

"My heart aches worrying about you Willie! I wish you good health. ❤️❤️" one person wrote on Instagram after hearing the latest update.

"Willie…please feel better soon," added another, as a third noted, "my heart keeps dropping at these."

Another fan provided a possible explanation, stating, "I think it's due to the extreme heat. Majority if not all of these concerts are at outside venues. 95+ degree heat is bad for anybody, especially for somebody at his age."

The Outlaw Music Festival is scheduled for another show in Syracuse, New York on Friday, June 28, though it is not clear if Nelson will be performing.

Let's hope the country legend can get "On the Road Again" soon!
