    Some fireworks displays in Hampton Roads cancelled due to impending storms

    Impending storms are threatening to cancel some Independence Day fireworks displays across Hampton Roads Thursday night.

    Town Point Park Norfolk

    Fireworks are still on as of 8:50 p.m.

    Virginia Beach

    Virginia Beach Police will be diverting traffic from the Oceanfront at Park & 21st streets after fireworks.

    Oceanfront fireworks will start early at 8:50 p.m. to avoid inclement weather; Mt. Trashmore fireworks are on as scheduled for 9:30 p.m.

    Update 8:15 p.m.

    Stars in the Sky is back on with fireworks to take off at 9:15 p.m.

    Suffolk

    The city of Suffolk said it was canceling tonight's show due to weather.

    Attendees of the Stars in the Sky event at Victory Landing Park are urged to seek shelter due to threats of a storm and strong winds.

    There is also lightning within 5 miles and potential for strong winds.
