City of Sparks wins excessive force case
SPARKS, Nev. (KOLO) - The City of Sparks has won an appeal of a 2020 excessive force case. Last Friday, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals overturned what they deemed to be an erroneous finding by the District Court and sided with the City of Sparks, agreeing that a 2020 incident in which an officer opened fire on a suspect to end a car chase was reasonable and justified.

Nevada athletics has partnered with locally-owned 10 Torr Distilling and Brewing to create "Pack Punch," the Wolf Pack's latest in a series of co-branding partnerships. Pack Punch is a mojito-inspired rum cocktail with marionberry, lime and mint. The first rum cocktail of 10 Torr's canned cocktail line will launch Aug. 23 during an event from 5-7 p.m. at 10 Torr, which is located at 490 Mill Street. The launch event will include the Rice Box Kitchen food truck, live music and the first tasting of Pack Punch. Pack Punch will initially be available for purchase only at 10 Torr, with retail details and locations coming at a later date.
