The Brickhouse Tavern has a rich history

The Brickhouse Tavern in Colonial Williamsburg was built in 1770 and has been through numerous owners, being remodeled and completely restored after a fire. As with many structures from its day, there are ghost rumors.

Located at 755 Scottland Street, it is billed as a casual Italian-American restaurant and bar where friends gather over world-class pizza, pasta, sandwiches, and salads. There were 16 rooms, and due to the laws at the time, husbands and wives had to sleep in different rooms.

According to US Ghost Adventures, Haunted Pubs, and Taverns, guests have heard keys jingling and loud footsteps. The spirits are said to be in awe of modern running water as faucets and showers have been reported to turn on and off by themselves.
