If you drink beer you have your favorite which may not be to someone elses taste. Historic Virginia has listed it's choices for the top 15 breweries in the Commonwealth but readers may not agree.

Number one on the list is not an older established brewery but Big Lick Brewing Company, LLC in Downtown Roanoke. This nano-brewery was established in 2012 with only two employees and a 1.5-barrel brewing system.

The microbrewery, outdoor taproom, and beer garden now have a 10-barrel brewing system. Bick Lick is considered the premiere brewery in the Roanoke Valley, specializing in quality craft beer.

Big Lick Brewing Company offers a variety of beers made with state-of-the-art equipment and quality ingredients. The brewery also sells many food items.
