    Virginia teens slain 15 years ago are now a cold case that needs solving

    There were 419 cold cases in Virginia in 2019 is back in the news. This past Monday, August 26, marked 15 years since two Virginia Tech students, Heidi Childs and David Metzler, were murdered.

    News 10 reports a $100,000 reward is being offered for anyone who can help crack the case. Law enforcement has not made any arrests, and the families of the victims are seeking closure on the unsolved deaths.

    The couple was found shot to death in a vehicle in the Caldwell Fields parking lot of the Jefferson National Forest in Montgomery County. In 2019, News 10 revealed that a website had been dedicated to finding the guilty party.

    Heidi Childs and David Metzler were entering their sophomore year at Virginia Tech when their lives were cut short. Anyone who has information on this Virginia cold case should call VSP at 540-375-9589.
