    Heat Advisory in effect; severe storms possible

    RICHMOND, Va. -- A Heat Advisory is in effect again today. Highs will be in the mid to upper 90s, and the heat index will exceed 105 at times this afternoon.

    Scattered storms will develop this afternoon and last through evening. Some of the storms could be severe, with strong gusts as the primary hazard. Localized heavy rainfall totals over two inches are possible.

    A cold front will move through the area Thursday, . More showers and storms will be around, with higher chances in southern and southeastern Virginia. It won't be as hot, with highs 85-90.

    Friday will be less humid with highs in the mid to upper 80s. An isolated shower is possible in a few spots.

    Muggy air returns this weekend into next week. Highs will be in the upper 80s and lower 90s. Scattered storms are possible each day.
