    1 dead after collision in Visalia

    VISALIA Calif. ( KSEE/ K GPE ) – One person is dead after being hit by a vehicle in Visalia on Tuesday night, according to the Visalia Police Department.

    Officers say they responded to the area of Mooney Boulevard and Cameron Avenue for vehicle versus pedestrian collision around 9 p.m.

    According to officials, it was first believed that the driver had fled the scene, however, it was found that the driver had pulled into a nearby parking lot and contacted police to report the collision.

    The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. Officers say the driver is fully cooperating with law enforcement.

    Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the collision. Anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact the Visalia PD Traffic Unit at 559-713-4175.
