    Motorcyclist killed in Voluntown crash

    VOLUNTOWN, Conn. (WTNH) — A 55-year-old motorcycle driver from Jewett City was killed Thursday afternoon after hitting a guardrail, according to state police.

    The crash happened at about 5:20 p.m. Thursday on the Shetucket Turnpike near the intersection of Campbell Mill Road in Voluntown.

    CSP partnership provides safe spots to get help

    Donald R. Sunny, 55, was driving a 2023 Kawasaki KLR605 west when he hit the guardrail and was thrown off the motorcycle, according to Connecticut State Police. He was driving downhill and through a left curve at the time.

    He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
