    Driver of truck seriously injured after being ejected in Cass County crash

    CASS COUNTY, Ind. — A Wabash man was seriously injured after being ejected after a Friday morning crash in Cass County, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

    At around 1:42 a.m. on Friday, deputies with the office responded to a single vehicle crash near County Road 500 East and U.S. 35, according to a news release from the office. While on the scene, they found a man, identified as a 26-year-old from Wabash, ejected around 100 feet off of the roadway.

    During a preliminary investigation, they found the man had been driving a Ford truck southbound on U.S. 35. When the truck was near County Road 500 East, the vehicle reportedly drove off the east side of the road way and rolled several times before coming to a rest.

    The driver of the truck was located near the vehicle when deputies arrived on scene. The release said that the driver was flown to a Fort Wayne hospital with serious injuries.

    The release said that alcohol is believed to be a factor in this crash. The incident is still under investigation by the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
