WACO, Texas ( FOX 44 ) — Baylor held a 1-0 lead with the Cowgirls down to their final three outs but a late Oklahoma State charge led to a 4-1 loss for the Bears in the conference opener.

Aaliyah Binford got the start in the circle for the Big 12 opener and dealt throughout the game, adding six scoreless innings. However, a three-run homer given up in the bottom of the eighth proved to be the difference and ultimately earned Binford her third loss of the season.

Baylor struck first with a grounder from Abi Flores bouncing off Rosie Davis’ glove and bringing Ana Watson around for the first run in the bottom of the fifth.

Oklahoma State eventually evened the score on a fielders choice in the seventh inning to send the game into extras where the Cowgirls pulled away to down the Bears.

Baylor looks to rally in game two on Saturday, March 9th at 2:00 p.m.
