WACO, Texas ( FOX 44 ) — The Bears have hit their stride in Big 12 conference play and don’t look to be slowing down any time soon. Baylor tallied its 10th victory in the previous 11 games with a dominating 14-5 win over Kansas to open the weekend series on Friday.

The Bears jumped out to an early 7-0 lead thanks to a six-run inning in the second. Mason Marriott held it down from there, only allowing a single hit through the first four innings to hold the Jayhawks at bay. Marriott gets the win for 5.1 innings pitched, six strikeouts and only one earned run.

Former Midway Panther Cortlan Castle led the way with a 3-3, four-RBI day to help the Bears to the win.

Baylor looks to keep the good times going in game two on Saturday, April 20th at 11:30 a.m.
