MAYER, Minn. — Teigan Martin was a standout player on a standout team for Mayer Lutheran High School. He landed on a Division I football scholarship at Liberty then South Florida. Last week, he died in a car accident while back home in Minnesota. Sibley East Legion defeats Norwood 9-3
The Sibley East American Legion baseball team defeated visiting Norwood 9-3 at Green Isle on Saturday, June 29. Riley Drexler and Gavyn Hayden led Sibley East at the plate with one single each and one double apiece. Evan Pautsch and Leyton Dose contributed two singles apiece. Nate Colling, Nathan Schauer, Riley Bussler and Aaron Brinkman added one single each.

GAYLORD – The Glencoe Brewers fell to the Gaylord Islanders in a non-league tune up game on Wednesday, June 26. The Brewers took a brief early lead in the top of the second inning. With runners on first and third Oray Tangen (wait that’s me!) hit an RBI fielders choice to center field scoring Dylen Terlinden, and giving the Brewers a 1-0 lead.

COLOGNE – A day after the offense struggled to get anything going, the Cologne Hollanders were able to wake the bats up at the right time. Hosting the Norwood Indians, the offense came to life in a big way for the Hollanders as they got back into the win column with an impressive 14-4 win in seven innings over the Indians June 30.
