ISD 110 offers another deal to teachers’ union

ISD 110 has presented another contract offer to Waconia teachers outside the context of mediation encouraging the Waconia Education Association to present the proposal to its members and request a vote.

The proposal follows 12 months of negotiations and a mediation session last month which the ISD 110 negotiations team called a “wholly unproductive process” and “regressive bargaining.”

In correspondence dated June 11, ISD 110 reiterated its financial position and expressed frustration that the WEA’s latest financial proposal made in mediation was more expensive than its previous proposal. The district also states that the WEA continues to ignore the district’s costing data and assert “without any legitimate basis that the district’s financial data are inaccurate.”

ISD’s latest contract proposal is a variation of recent offers of two two-year contracts with up-front salary payments in 2023-2025 and 3 and 5 increases to salary schedules in years 2025-2026 and 2026-2027. Also increases in the district’s contribution to insurance premiums and matching contributions to 403b retirement savings programs.

The complete correspondence with contract offer is posted on the Human Resources negotiations page on district website: isd110.org .
