New deviled-egg flavor at the state fair will 'blow you away'
Ohio's final entry in the yearly battle for the nation's weirdest state-fair foods: bubblegum-flavored deviled eggs. The Ohio Poultry Association announced the last of seven deviled-egg flavors Thursday that it plans to serve up at the Ohio State Fair, which opens Wednesday in Columbus. They'll all be available at the association's "Devilishly Good Egg Stand" in the Taste of Ohio Pavilion & Beer Garden.

Ohio sees uptick in unemployment rate, lost jobs in June
COLUMBUS, Ohio — New economic data from the state shows that Ohio saw an uptick in its unemployment rate, and that it lost jobs in the month of June. Ohio lost 2,300 jobs during June from the revised May estimate, dropping the total employment to 5,652,900 jobs, according to figures released Friday by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. The state also did not add as many jobs in May as previously thought.

Knowing that the construction industry has a high rate of suicide, Hopper, executive vice president and general manager of Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee for Skanska USA, partnered with the Lindner Center of Hope. The Ohio-based mental health facility helped Hopper implement the Start the Conversation program, in an attempt to remove the stigma from sensitive topics on the jobsite.

Ohio home where 26 dogs were found living in terrible conditions is rescued
An animal shelter reported that over 25 dogs were rescued from an Ohio home that was in a deplorable condition, located in Hubbard Township. According to the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County, the 26 dogs and their elderly owner were discovered living in appalling conditions. Fortunately, the dogs were rescued and taken to a shelter located less than 10 miles away across the Pennsylvania border.
