On June 20, the Wake Forest FUNGO faced Central Division rival Oak City Gliders.

Wake Forest downed the last-place Gliders 11-2.

The 6-4 FUNGO are now just half a game behind the 6-3 Reidsville Luckies, and with another match against the Gliders on the 21st, they have the chance to overtake the Luckies.

FUNGO only outhit the Gliders 13-8 but came away with nine more runs than the rival.

The Gliders got on the board first with a run in the bottom of the second and answered Wake Forest’s run in the top of the third with a run in the subsequent frame.

From the fifth to ninth innings FUNGO took over, combining for 10 runs in the five innings.

Freddie Oliver and Nick DiCarlo, who both are future North Carolina A&T State University students, earned FUNGO co-Players of the Week. The two led at the plate, combining for six hits, four RBIs, four steals and four runs.

Blake Hanly only saw two innings pitched but made the most of them, striking out four and allowing just one hit. Conner Elliot also saw little time but had success, striking out two and allowing no hits in one innings pitched.
