Man allegedly stabs two during argument

On March 10, Charles sheriff’s officers responded to 3033 October Place in Waldorf around 10:20 p.m. for reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located a man who had a towel, soaked with blood, around his head, charging documents say.

The man’s hand was severely cut between his middle and ring finger, exposing tendons, the documents say. After emergency treatment was administered, officers learned from the man that he was in a verbal argument with someone who went by the name “Mouse” which resulted in Mouse allegedly pulling out a butterfly knife and repeatedly stabbing the man, according to charging documents.

During the stabbing, a woman tried to insert herself between the two in hopes of stopping the fight, but she received a laceration to her left hand, documents say.

Mouse, who was later identified as Karwin Milburn Carroll, 48, allegedly fled the scene in a silver Toyota Camry, which officers were able to locate. During contact, officers allegedly observed blood on his clothes and were able to positively identify him, the documents say.

Carroll was transported to Charles County Detention Center and faces two counts of first- and second-degree assault.

    Man allegedly forges government document

Logan Michael Adelman, 30, of Waldorf allegedly attempted to counterfeit Charles County Department of Human Services receipts and faked signatures to avoid paying child support.

In a child support hearing, Adelman provided a receipt and claimed that he made a payment at the department’s payment window at 200 Kent Avenue in La Plata, charging documents say. Once the hearing adjourned, the receipt was scrutinized and discrepancies were found that did not match other issued receipts.

After a call to the office, it was revealed that Adelman had not gone to pay on the day listed on the receipt and had allegedly forged an office worker’s signature, charging documents say.

In January, Adelman was confronted about the receipt and allegedly admitted to an officer that it was forged, the documents say.

Felony forgery charges were filed against Adelman on March 11, which carry a maximum penalty of 10 years.

Officers arrest man with over six pounds of cannabis, gun

On March 8, members of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office Firearms Investigations Unit along with detectives served a search warrant in the 3100 block of Heathcote Road in Waldorf. The search was related to an ongoing investigation into firearms violations and drug trafficking, a sheriff’s office press release says.

During the search, investigators recovered 6.5 pounds of cannabis, a loaded firearm, cash, drug paraphernalia and packaging, according to charging documents.

Charging documents say that the recovered cannabis has a street value of approximately $27,000.

The suspect, Justin Pristoop, 20, of Waldorf, was located and arrested without incident. At the time of his arrest, Pristoop was on electronic monitoring related to a previous arrest last December for possession of a firearm.

Pristoop is currently being held at the Charles County Detention Center without bond. He was charged with possession of drugs with the intent to distribute, illegal possession of a firearm due to age and other related charges.

The officer stepped out in the roadway, had the vehicle come to a stop and signaled for the driver to pull over, according to charging documents.

The driver, later identified as Chidozie Charles Obinna Udoji, 20, of Waldorf, allegedly stared directly back at the officer while smoking a cannabis cigarette, the documents say.

Once the vehicle was pulled over, Udoji allegedly put the vehicle in drive and accelerated toward the officer, with the front bumper striking the officer’s right knee and smashing his radar gun, charging documents say.

The officer returned to his vehicle and began pursuit of Udoji, who was allegedly going more than 100 mph on Middletown Road. Officers briefly lost sight of Udoji, but were able to locate his crashed car with the help of witnesses, the documents say.

Udoji fled the scene, but officers found a nearby house with cameras and found footage of him entering a black Lexus passenger car.

Later in the day, Udoji called the police station to report his vehicle was stolen, but officers were able to identify him as the driver after looking up details on the vehicle, the charging documents say. Using the new information, officers located and arrested Udoji.

Udoji is charged with first- and second-degree assault, failure to obey a lawful order, destruction of property, eluding police and other related charges.
