182nd version of Wisconsin's oldest county fair gets underway on Wednesday in Waukesha
WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Waukesha County Fair is both the oldest county fair in Wisconsin and the largest event in the county itself. It celebrates everything agriculture with barnyard animals and farm displays, but there's so much more like crafts, fair food, and last but not least, the midway.
Arrowhead voters to decide on $261.2 million facilities referendum, $7.6 million operational referendum in November
Arrowhead Union High School District voters will not only have a president to vote for in November, but also two referendum questions. The Arrowhead School Board voted July 10 to put a $261.2 million facilities referendum question on the ballot. The board also decided to put an operational referendum question to voters, which would raise an additional $1.9 million per year for four years for a total of $7.6 million.
Waukesha County Airport Sees Surge in Private Jets as RNC Begins
WAUKESHA, Wis. (WAUK) — Waukesha County Airport is seeing a surge in private jet traffic as the Republican National Convention (RNC) kicks off in Milwaukee. Airport officials are expecting a significant increase in aircraft, with bookings for about a dozen more private jets each day during the convention. The airport typically hosts three to four private jets daily.
Notice of Intent to Award Public Works Contract – Seal Coating & Pavement Marking Services
The Village of Summit has completed a public advertisement for bids with the intent to award a contract to one contractor for pavement seal coating and pavement marking services with an estimated total cost of $9,090. This notice is given pursuant to Section 62.15(1) Wisconsin Statutes, which provides that if the estimated cost of any public construction exceeds $5,000 but is not greater than $25,000, a Class I notice of the proposed construction shall be published before the contract for the construction is executed. The contract will not be executed until one week following publication of this notice.
Local business teams up with community organization to share removed book in Menomonee Falls School District
MENOMONEE FALLS — After a children’s book was banned in Menomonee Falls, community members are working together to bring the book back to families across the community. The book, “Love Makes a Family” by Sophie Beer, was a part of the district’s 4K Family Traveling Read Aloud Books program.
Alpine Valley announces new date for last weekend's washed-out Noah Kahan show
Noah Kahan's Alpine Valley show last weekend was set to be the "Stick Season" singer's biggest concert yet. Thanks to Mother Nature, it ended up being a big nothing instead, postponing the Saturday night show due to storms. At least fans won't have to wait long for his second attempt at the show, though, as Alpine Valley Music Theatre today announced Kahan's rescheduled date.
