Bennett Wildfire holding within burned area
EDGEMONT, S.D. (KELO) — Fire crews were able to hold the fire within the burned area Friday night. As of Saturday morning, the fire remains at 330 acres in the Black Hills National Forest and is 10% contained, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture/Black Hills. There were 130 fire personnel from South Dakota, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Colorado fighting the blaze. Other agencies and volunteer fire departments have been on-site to assist.

Storybook Land Theatre to Perform in Sisseton
Aberdeen's Storybook Land Theatre (SBLT) is hitting the road with their new musical, "A Year With Frog and Toad," inspired by the popular children's books by Arnold Lobel. The tour will be making a stop in Sisseton on Tuesday, Aug. 13, with a FREE musical concert beginning at 5:30 p.m., and the FREE performance at 6:00 p.m. in Anderson Park. Those attending may want to bring a chair or blanket for seating. Locally the SBLT performance is sponsored by the Sisseton Arts Council. Augustana Hall of Famer Ken Kessinger Passes Away
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana Hall of Famer Ken Kessinger passed away on August 13 at the age of 99. Kessinger attended school at Augustana following his service in World War II with the Air Force. He graduated from Augustana in 1949 with 12 letters, four in football, four in basketball and four in track and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1979.
