East Orange's Rashawn Stuart Completed Eagle Scout Project
East Orange, NJ-Thousands of young people participate in scouting each year, with many starting as youngsters and continuing on to earn the highest rank of Eagle Scout. Approximately 55,000 young people, year after year, achieve this important milestone. Service to mankind is what Scouting is all about. The Eagle Scout service project highlights the Scout's leadership abilities and positively impacts the community. East Orange resident Rashawn Stuart is a dedicated member of Troop 5350 in Belleville. Rashawn planned, supervised and constructed 21 Wood Duck Boxes for the Essex County Environmental Center in Roseland. Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. congratulated him on his achievement and thanked him for completing his Eagle Scout project within the Essex County Park System. Longtime Union Resident Celebrates 100th Birthday with Family and Friends
UNION, NJ - Family and friends gathered together on Saturday to celebrate the 100th birthday of longtime Union resident Mary Izzo. Izzo was born on July 17, 1924. She moved from Newark to Union in 1965. She raised five children and became a consummate volunteer, including as the town's Girl Scout troop organizer, as the leader of Troop 588 for twenty years, and as a Washington Rock Girl Scout delegate. Boat Point Drive targeted for overhaul
POINT PLEASANT — Boat Point Drive, which has been hit with significant flooding and damage since Superstorm Sandy, will be substantially renovated with new flooding and damage mitigation measures thanks to a $199,000 grant from federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). New inlets, manholes and tide flex valves as well as raising of the road at a location approximately 150 feet from the intersection of Bay Isle Drive on Boat Point Drive in the Bay Head Shores neighborhood.
New York Giants may need to make bold move to gain ground in NFC East
The New York Giants are clearly not going to go very far with the current situation they have at the quarterback position, which could call for some drastic measures. The Giants apparently had interest in trading up for QB Drake Maye during the 2024 NFL Draft, which obviously did not happen. So now, instead of taking another QB that ended up going in the first round, the Giants seemed content to stick with Daniel Jones and Drew Lock.
