WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- WWPD said a 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of voyeurism after filming a woman in a public restroom.

Police said in an update Friday that the man was released from jail.

Officials said officers made contact with the man just after 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 18 at his house after several reports of his behavior over the last few weeks.

According to officials, around 11 a.m. on Thursday Walla Walla Police received a call from a woman saying a man had been following her very closely. Officials said when officers arrived, the man was still in the park and the woman was able to point him out.

Police said they interviewed the man but since no crime was committed, the man was released and a report was made.

Police said the Walla Walla Police Department received a call around 12:40 p.m. from a woman who said the man followed a woman into the bathroom and "attempted" to film her. Officials said the caller filmed the man and showed it to police.

WWPD said they received several complaints about the man over the last few weeks. Officials said the reports were about a man following and/or filming women near Walla Walla Community College around the walking path.

According to officials, some of the people who reported the man's behavior took pictures and officers were able to identify the man after comparing the picture to the man in the park.

Officials said the man was booked into the Walla Walla County Jail on suspicion of voyeurism.

WWPD is asking if anyone has information or believes they could be a victim to call and ask to speak to a detective at 509-527-4434.
