Grass fire started near Pointe West Apartments
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - Just after noon, July 25, Rapid City Fire Department received a call about a grass fire behind the Pointe West apartment complex. When firefighters got to the scene, about a half acre of brush was on fire with a flame height of about two feet. Firefighters were able to put the fire out before it could get out of control.

BARKSDALE AFB, La. – Multiple crew failures, severe winter weather, and wind shear led to the fiery January crash of a B-1 bomber at Ellsworth AFB on January 4, 2024 according to a report released Thursday by Air Force Global Strike Command. The crash resulted in the complete loss of the $450 million aircraft, although all four crew members ejected safely, with two sustaining injuries.

RAPID CITY, S.D. - Rapid City Parks is getting a little help limiting the damage along the creek caused by beavers. The Parks Division says beavers play an important role in Rapid Creek's watershed.
