'I think my dad killed my mom,' man says in 911 call of American Fork murder-suicide
AMERICAN FORK — Last month, an American Fork couple who had been married for over 30 years and had six children together were found dead inside their home. Police determined that Olin Johnson, 57, shot and killed his wife, Kerilyn Johnson, 52, before turning the gun on himself on June 20.
Mexican national living in Lehi charged with kidnapping and attempted rape
On Monday, July 15, The Utah County Attorney’s office charged a male Mexican national who had been living in Lehi with multiple felonies. Rene Cervantes-Medina, 37, has been charged with kidnapping, sexual assault, sexual battery, threat of violence, attempted rape and domestic violence. Along with these felony charges, Cervantes-Medina was also charged with theft, driving without a license, using plates registered to another vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Motorcyclist injured in crash outside of Arches National Park
MOAB — A motorcyclist was injured Wednesday afternoon when he crashed into a truck while pulling out of Arches National Park. The motorcyclist was exiting Arches National Park in Moab and turning left to head south on state Route 191 when he "failed to yield to traffic and merged lanes," Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Luis Silva said.

18-year-old arrested on weapons, drug charges following Kanarraville shooting death
CEDAR CITY — An 18-year-old man is facing multiple charges following a shooting incident that left another man dead in Kanarraville on Wednesday evening. Kyle Black Jessop was booked into Iron County Jail at 4:10 a.m. on Thursday, where he is being held on suspicion of two counts of possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, a third-degree felony, one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, a third-degree felony, and two misdemeanor counts related to drug, paraphernalia and alcohol possession.
