Local community and business leader Leo R. Kaytes Jr. has become the first Warwick Valley Rotarian to head the eight-county, 56-club Rotary District 7210 in New York. According to the Rotary, his 90-year-old father, Leo Sr., a 43-year Warwick Rotarian and a past president of the service club, watched his son sworn into office during a district conference cruise to Nova Scotia in June. William Schlette, owner of the Bud Bus Co., faces new charges after police and prosecutors executed search warrants in four locations Wednesday, July 10. Schlette, 47, of West Nyack, N.Y., was charged with first-degree possession of more than 25 pounds of marijuana with intent to distribute, first-degree money laundering and second-degree racketeering. He also was charged with possession of more than 6 ounces of marijuana and five counts of conspiracy, both fourth-degree crimes, as well as deceptive business practices.
