Woman, 96, dies from injuries
Marcos Travis of Newton died of her injuries after she was struck by a vehicle while crossing Madison Street in a marked crosswalk June 27. She was 96. About 11 a.m. that day, the Newton Police Department received a 9-1-1 call about an accident. A preliminary investigation showed that Hunter Grave de Peralta, 25, of Newton was traveling south on Madison after turning left from Elm Street. His vehicle struck Travis, police said.
