Syracuse, N.Y. — Average home sale prices are up at least 20% so far this year in two towns in Onondaga County, according to new data. The average price is now $346,100 in Marcellus, up 26.3% from this time in 2023, according to data from Central New York Information Service Inc., an arm of the Greater Syracuse Association of Realtors. The average in Pompey is $525,200, up 22.8% from this point last year.

Police narrowing in on suspects following stray bullet hitting Syracuse school bus
SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The suspects involved in a shooting that inadvertently struck a school bus are closer to be identified according to police. On Highland Street just after 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, Syracuse Police officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation where they found multiple casings on the scene and learned that a bus was struck by one bullet. At the time, the bus was carrying four elementary students, the driver and the bus monitor. All of them are uninjured according to police.

Rome woman accused of causing more than $6,000 in damage to vehicle
ROME — A 32-year-old woman is accused of causing more than $6,000 in damage to her estranged husband's pickup truck, according to the Rome Police Department. Police said Nikki L. Marriott, of Sherrill, went to her estranged husband's workplace on Ellsworth Road in Rome at about 10:11 a.m. Wednesday and damaged his 2021 Dodge Ram pickup truck in the parking lot. Police said Marriott broke off both side mirrors and used them to beat multiple dents throughout the vehicle. Police said Marriott also used a hammer to damage the truck.

Syracuse, N.Y. – A woman was arrested Wednesday and charged with leaving the scene of a fatal car accident. Heniyah S. Williams, 22, is accused of hitting Shane Jackson, 35, on the 100 block of West Court Street with a grey 2006 Honda Pilot around 9:20 p.m. on July 5, according to a criminal complaint filed in Syracuse City Court.
