The 50,000-square-foot facility is under construction at the site of the former Lowell Elementary School. The beam-raising ceremony will take place around 2:00 p.m., and participants will have an opportunity to sign the beam before it is hoisted into place.

Upon completion, the facility will feature a pool, fitness area, locker rooms child care among its services. The new YMCA is set to open in January of next year.
