FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Homestead High School’s Sam Steward will be taking his talents to West Lafayette following his senior season with the Spartans as the linebacker verbally committed to Purdue University on Thursday.

A six-foot-two, 205-pounder, Stewart led Homestead with 17 tackles for loss and 11 sacks last fall as a junior. He also tallied 94 tackles for the Spartans.

Homestead will host Snider in a scrimmage on Friday, then open the regular season Friday, August 23 at Carmel.
