2024 Highlight Zone Preview: Bluffton Tigers

BLUFFTON, Ind. (WANE) – After back-to-back sectional titles, Bluffton football is looking to reload this fall, as 19 starters have graduated as head coach Brent Kunkel enters year eight leading the Tigers program.

Offensively, sophomore Axton Beste takes over at quarterback after limited experience on the varsity level last year as a freshman. He’s joined in the offensive backfield by a talented tandem of junior Khamel Moore and sophomore Cooper Craig. That duo combined for just under 1,000 yards rushing last season with 14 total touchdowns.

Receiver A.J. Streveler hauled in 19 passes for 242 yards and 2 touchdowns last season as a sophomore, and he’ll be counted on to lead a young receiving corps.

Defensively, linebacker Griffin Morgan will play a key role, as he tallied 39 tackles last year as a sophomore.

The Tigers open the season Friday night against Blackhawk Christian. That game will be played at South Adams High School at 7 p.m.
