PAULDING COUNTY, Ohio (WANE) — Two are in serious condition after an early morning single-vehicle crash in Paulding County on Sunday.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) was dispatched to County Road 177 west of County Road 171 in Brown Township, Paulding County around 1 a.m. Sunday.

When officers got to the scene they found a Polaris RZR-XP1000 off the roadway and into a tree, according to a press release. Preliminary information by OSHP found that 24-year-old Savannah Ridgway was driving west on CR 177 when she drove the Polaris off the right side of the roadway.

After the Polaris roadway, it struck a tree. Ridgway was flown to Toledo in serious condition, while the passenger Westen Phlipot, 23, was flown to Fort Wayne also in serious condition.

OSHP believes alcohol to be a factor in the crash and seat belts were not used. Officers urge motorists to not drive impaired and to always wear a seatbelt.

    The crash remains under investigation.
