    Family dog dies in house fire on Belchertown Road in Ware

    WARE, Mass. (WWLP) -The Ware Fire Department was sent to a house fire on Belchertown Road on Friday.

    According to the Ware Fire Department, on Friday at 4:14 p.m. crews received a report of smoke coming from 278 Belchertown Road. When crews arrived, they confirmed that there was a working fire and a third alarm was requested due to the high heat and humidity.

    The fire was contained and under control in 20 minutes, and the residents were out of town at the time of the fire, however, a family dog died in the fire.

    The fire is being investigated by the Ware Fire Department, the Ware Police Department, and the Massachusetts State Fire Marshall’s Office. Warren Fire, Palmer Fire, Bondsville Fire, Three Rivers Fire, Belchertown Fire, Barre Fire, West Brookfield Fire, North Brookfield Fire, New Braintree Fire, Action EMS, Palmer EMS, Ware Police, Massachusetts State Police, and Department of Fire Services Special Operations Rehab Unit all assisted in putting out the fire.
