Kermit's Jude takes fourth Mt. State Classic title; qualifies for US Amateurs
Kermit native Davey Jude blew away the competition last weekend, winning his fourth Mountain State Golf Classic championship at the Cobb Course at The Resort at Glade Springs. Jude won the three-day event by nine strokes, wire-to-wire, shooting a 12-under-par and taking the championship for the second straight year on Monday.

Louisa, Ky. — Former Bulldog stars Bryce Blevins and Steve Blevins hosted a baseball camp at Stella Moore Park last week. Bryce Blevins addressing the campers. The camp hosted 114 kids ranging in ages from 7-12 years old from all around the Tri-State area including Lawrence County, Paintsville, Johnson County, Wayne County, Floyd County, Boyd County, Rowan County and parts of Ohio on Monday and Tuesday of last week.

Football fever is growing for both the Mingo Central Miners and the Tug Valley Panthers and excitement is high – as it should be. With regular preseason practices set to begin on Monday, July 29, with both teams coming off playoff appearances a year ago and with both squads having a lot of starters on each side of the ball coming back this fall, optimism is high for the Panthers and Miners.
