A 30-year-old Warminster man is facing multiple felony charges after he crashed his motorcycle seriously injuring his female passenger, then left the accident scene.

Warminster Police allege that Joseph “Sonny” Hudicek should not have been driving at all because he had a DUI-suspended license when the accident occurred on April 14, according to a probable cause affidavit.

It was shortly after 6 p.m. when Warminster police responded to a motorcycle accident on York Road north of Norristown Road and found a woman with injuries including several broken bones and abrasions.

A 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle was near a curb in the southbound lanes of York Road, near Lavera Road with heavy front end damage, the affidavit said.

Officers spoke with witnesses who saw eight motorcycles and a black Ford Mustang traveling North on York Road, speeding and weaving in and out of traffic before the accident.

One man told police he saw several motorcycles and the Mustang behind him revving their engines at a red light. When the light turned green, the witness said, the motorcycles passed him on the shoulder and between cars and in the turn lane.

As the man continued driving he saw a Harley Davidson with a woman passenger riding on the back. The woman was not wearing a helmet, and she appeared to be taking selfies with her cellphone, the affidavit read.

The police investigation alleges Hudicek was traveling at nearly 100 mph when the accident occurred.

As the motorcycle with the woman passenger passed through the intersection with Norristown Road it lost control and went down. The female passenger was thrown and fell face first on York Road.

The witness stopped and helped the injured woman when he was approached by Hudicek who was bloody and said his arm was broken, the affidavit said. Hudicek then left the accident scene westbound on Lavera Road, authorities said.

Later police learned from a friend of Hudicek that he and others were at a Hatboro brewery shortly before they left on their motorcycles.

The friend told police that when he lost track of Hudicek, he circled back to find out what happened and saw the accident, the affidavit said. The friend then picked up Hudicek at his mother’s home in Warminster and drove him to the Abington-Jefferson emergency room.

Police found Hudicek at the hospital and he confirmed he was involved in a motorcycle accident, the affidavit said.

Hudicek was arraigned before District Judge Christopher O’Neill on July 9 on a long list of offenses including aggravated assault by vehicle and two counts of accidents involving death or personal injury, which are felonies.

He is incarcerated in Bucks County Correctional Center in lieu of $50,000 bail.

His attorney Michael Kotik did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment Monday.
