New Hampshire Police Arrest Vermont Bank Robbery Suspect After Intense 20-Mile Chase on I-93
After a high-speed chase stretching 20 miles along Interstate 93, New Hampshire State Police brought a Vermont bank robbery suspect into custody on Monday. The pursuit began near Lincoln, New Hampshire, shortly after 4 p.m., when troopers spotted and attempted to pull over a blue 2013 BMW 550i—a vehicle reported stolen from Nashua the preceding day. Despite law enforcement's signals, the driver refused to stop, leading authorities on a chase that concluded in Campton, just short of the Plymouth town line.
Lakes Region Businesses Help Concert Goers to Ride and Dine

Accessible Leavitt Park reopens Monday
The grand reopening of the Leavitt Park Playground was held in Lakeport on Monday afternoon. The playground has a new ground covering of mostly wood mulch, and also has several elements accessible by people who use mobility devices such as wheelchairs. The playground renovation cost over $300,000 in total and the deconstruction and reconstruction of the playground took about two months. Ward 5 City Councilor Steven Bogert, Finance Director Glenn Smith, Director of Recreation & Facilities Amy Lovisek, Fire Chief Tim Joubert, and City Manager Kirk Beattie attended the reopening ceremony.
Interlakes Summer Theatre to open with Disney’s ‘Newsies’
MEREDITH — The Interlakes Summer Theatre will open its 17th season with Disney’s “Newsies” on July 3 at 7:30 p.m. Based on the real-life Newsboy Strike of 1899, this Disney musical tells the story of Jack Kelly, a rebellious newsboy who dreams of a life as an artist away from the big city. After publishing giant Joseph Pulitzer raises newspaper prices at the newsboys’ expense, Kelly and his fellow newsies take action. With help from the beautiful female reporter Katherine Plumber, all of New York City soon recognizes the power of “the little man.”

MEREDITH — The Meredith Historical Society continues its 2024 Speaker Series with a second program on the individual considered the town’s founder and guiding light. Ebenezer Smith: Town, State, and Country Founding Father is an original program that will be presented by executive board member Rudy VanVeghten on Tuesday, July 2, at 6:30 p.m. It is the sequel to a program presented in April focusing on the early life of this Meredith luminary.
