After kangaroos hop away from their Anderson Co. owner, Little Ponderosa steps in to help them back home
ANDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — Multiple kangaroos escaped over the weekend, just not from where many expected. Little Ponderosa Zoo in Anderson County received a call about some wild Australian kangaroos on the loose close to their location. A neighbor who had seen the animals thought they must have escaped from the zoo.
Oak Ridge Boys’ William Lee Golden’s Son Rusty Dead at 65
Musician William “Rusty” Golden, son of Country Music Hall of Famer and Oak Ridge Boys member William Lee Golden, has passed away. Golden was 65 years old. Rusty passed away at his home in Hendersonville, Tennessee, on Monday, July 1. The cause of his death was not disclosed.
Long John Silver's returns to Oak Ridge 'shores'

The Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony that morning and for days afterward there were long lines of vehicles in the drive through.
Oak Ridge area women invited to Patriotic Celebration Luncheon July 9
All Oak Ridge area women and their guests are invited to a "Patriotic Celebration Luncheon" from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 9. It will be held at the DoubleTree Hotel, 215 S. Illinois Ave., Oak Ridge. Join in the musical celebration of Independence Day as presented by the local group, The Recollections. Following their presentation will be the inspirational guest speaker, Denita Arnold, who is from Louisville, Kentucky. She will share about her journey that began with heartache and despair, but has a happy ending. Her talk is titled, "A Fairytale Journey," according to a news release.
