Venture Fourth for holiday fun
Thursday is officially the big day but people have been celebrating the nation's birth in Kern County since Saturday. Wasco, Delano, Taft, Shafter, McFarland and Buttonwillow have had their big holiday fun, setting the stage for the remaining celebrations in Bakersfield, Tehachapi and Lake Isabella.

On 6/14/2024, Deputies from the East Area Substations Section began working on a Community Oriented Policing project (COPs) in the Tehachapi area. Deputies learned about numerous Vagos motorcycle gang members in the area that were harassing customers at a local business.
