Foo Fighters, Fat Joe, and more to appear at 'Power to the Patients' Washington D.C. concert

Foo Fighters are set to headline a special concert for lawmakers, staffers, volunteers, and advocates in support of healthcare price transparency, being held in Washington D.C. on Tuesday, March 5.

On Tuesday, March 5, Foo Fighters will take a detour from their current arena tour to perform at a private, one-night-only concert in Washington, D.C. hosted by Power to the Patients , a non-profit fighting for a more affordable, accessible, and equitable healthcare system through true price transparency. Hip-Hop legends Fat Joe and Chuck D will also be in attendance.

“When we were asked by 'Power to the Patients' to help raise awareness of the need for transparency in healthcare pricing, we immediately said yes. People suffering from illness and injury shouldn’t have to worry about being bankrupted by surprise charges for their treatment,” the Foo Fighters said when announcing the concert.

The band joins a long list of artists helping to fight the good fight for America’s patients, including Hip-Hop heavyweights Busta Rhymes , Public Enemy ’s Chuck D , Wu-Tang Clan ’s Method Man , Fat Joe , and Rick Ross , as well as Jelly Roll , Wyclef Jean , French Montana , country star Lainey Wilson , Valerie June , OBEY artist Shepard Fairey , and Art Alexakis ’ Everclear .

Leading the movement, rapper Fat Joe has taken his message to Capitol Hill, visiting with members of the U.S. House and Senate and urging them to pass legislation to codify and expand healthcare price transparency requirements . New polling shows 94% of Americans support healthcare price transparency, yet only 36% of hospitals comply with rules requiring them to disclose prices.

With no signs of slowing their roll anytime soon, the Foo Fighters have live shows scheduled through 2024 with stops planned for NYC’s Citi Field, Boston’s Fenway Park, Los Angeles’ BMO Stadium, Seattle’s T-Mobile Park, and more.
