Mike Rizzo’s weekly visit to the Junkies Wednesday was lighter than usual on Nationals news, just because there was so much going on the guys wanted to talk to him about and the team has a quick turnaround for a 4:05 game today on 106.7 The Fan.

And one of the things Mike quickly weighed in on was the debate the guys had just had: whether you’d rather have no MVPs but two rings or several MVPs but just one ring, i.e. would Aaron Rodgers give back some MVPs for another title

“I’ll take two rings. To me it’s all about the parade and camaraderie after the titles – you can’t replicate that, and that’s what you play for. You play to win titles, not accumulate stats and lose in the playoffs,” Rizzo said during his weekly appearance on Wednesday with 106.7 The Fan's The Sports Junkies, which is presented exclusively by our partners at MainStreet Bank — Cheer Local. To that point, though, Rizzo, a Chicago guy, was asked whether he’d rather be Michael Jordan or Robert Horry, the latter of whom won seven rings to MJ’s six…and, well, hometown pride.

“Jordan, because he did both (MVPs and titles), and gave away two because he retired for two years,” Rizzo said. “I love Jordan, I was around there when he was drafted, and I remember his rookie year, you could shoot a cannon through the place before he got there, and then it was jammed. The United Center is really the house MJ built, because without him, there’d be nothing to Chicago basketball.”
