No one knows exactly what Washington Wizards rookie Alex Sarr’s future in the NBA would look like, but he didn’t paint a good picture of his outlook in the league when he laid an egg during Tuesday night’s 82-80 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.

Making the night worse for Sarr was the negative reactions from fans on the internet to his brutal performance against the Blazers, with many even bringing up Los Angeles Lakers rookie Bronny James’ name just to further the trolling.

Like Sarr in the Portland game, James has struggled with his shot in the Summer League.

Sarr finished the contest with zero points on a horrid 0/15 shooting from the field, including seven misses from behind the arc. However, the No. 2 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft had nine rebounds, three assists, a steal, and three blocks.

“Bronny James is the worst player in Summer League” Alex Sarr:

“Everyone going crazy about 55TH PICK Bronny going 1-5 while the 2ND PICK Alex Sarr is 0-11😭😭😭”

“if this Alex Sarr performance got graded on the Bronny scale I think he legit might deserve deportation back to France”

“For all the Bronny James isn’t a pro folks how about you cast some opinions about #2 overall pick Alex Sarr going 0/15 for 0 points tonight… It’s summer league. It’s games like this that show you why they’re playing in it.”

“Alex Sarr and Bronny James will be a conversation 😂😂😂”

“I don’t wanna hear anymore Bronny talk when Alex Sarr the number 2 pick in the draft went 0/15 bro 😭 😭”

It is not the end of the world for Sarr. The immense potential is still there for the 19-year-old French big man, who can bounce back with a much better showing this coming Thursday against the Sacramento Kings.
