WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — DoorDash announced the names of the restaurants participating in their accelerator program this summer.

Kevin Wilson, co-owner of the Peach Cobbler Factory, is one of the participants. He’s one of nearly two dozen restaurant owners selected.

“I learned that I can control the tempo of the orders,” Wilson said. “Contacting the drivers and letting them know we need an extra five minutes or so.”

Participants received a $5,000 grant, a business consultant to provide advice and more.

Wilson, who is a D.C. native and IT professional, is using the grant and the technology to grow his business.

“A lot of business is coming through DoorDash for deliveries,” he said. “I’m super excited because it gives my business exposure.”

Wilson is now working on a new location in the District, following his success at his Massachusetts Avenue store.
