    Police: Man hurt in early morning Southeast DC shooting

    WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — Police said a man was hurt in Southeast, D.C. following a shooting early Wednesday morning.

    Around 4 a.m., the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to the 500 block of Newcomb Street, SE to investigate a shooting.

    Underground utility fire breaks out in Crystal City, causing loud ‘boom’

    When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound down the street in the MLK Jr. Avenue, SE, and Malcolm X Avenue, SE area.

    Police said he was conscious and breathing.

    Details about what led to the shooting remain limited; however, police were investigating the scene on Newcomb Street, SE.
