Jets Coaches Speak Highly of New Commanders Regime

The Washington Commanders are about to open their first preseason game on the road to kick off the Adam Peters - Dan Quinn regime.

After years of shuffling out mediocre coaches and executives, the Commanders are finally being looked at as a team on the come-up to this point.

And it has everything to do with the people in charge.

As Washington prepares for joint practices with the New York Jets on Thursday, Gang Green head coach Robert Saleh made it a point Tuesday to go in-depth about how Quinn and Peters should help the Commanders out in droves.

"You spend a minute with him and you're going to want another hour," Saleh said of Quinn. "He speaks the right messages. He treats people the right way. He demands the most. He demands and commands the most out of everybody. Really happy for him. I know they're excited about that quarterback too, so really excited for him and Adam Peters, their GM, they're going to get that franchise turned around."

Of course, an opposing coach saying these things is one thing. Actually putting out wins is an entirely different issue.

Washington has been the bottom-dweller of the NFC East for the better part of the last decade. Their last division title game was when they finished two games below .500.

If they are to be considered a top franchise once again, making sure they have the right people leading is just the first step. Now, it's time for the roster to show they are no longer ok with being pushovers.
