103rd Annual Marshall-Putnam Fair Now Less Than A Week Away
With the 4th of July now in the rear-view mirror, it's time to dive into fair season. The 103rd Marshall-Putnam Fair in Henry officially kicks off Sunday and goes until Saturday the 21st. The week-long party will include: a concert featuring Tracy Lawrence and Confederate Railroad; a demolition derby; truck and tractor pulls; a 5K; a cook-off contest; and of course livestock and fine arts judging.
Uptown Normal pub celebrates 50 years
NORMAL (25News Now)—Pub II turned 50 this Saturday, and the business commemorated the milestone with a parking lot party. The pub opened in 1974 and has been a staple in the Normal community for five decades. Saturday’s party included a beer truck, live music, and their fan-favorite cheeseballs.

Pekin unearths time capsule from the 1970s
PEKIN, Ill. (WMBD) — The city of Pekin went back in time yesterday, by opening up a time capsule that was buried in 1977. The time capsule sat seven feet underground at City Hall. Officials say they actually unearthed the time capsule in May, but most of the contents were wet, so they needed to dry before yesterday’s viewing.
Area road construction projects begin Monday
PEORIA, Ill. – Monday marks the start of the new work week and the start of road construction projects in and near Morton, East Peoria and Eureka. Pavement patching will begin Monday on the I-74 Morton Avenue overpass in Morton. Morton Avenue will be down to one lane in each direction through August.
Illinois Residents Getting Sick Because of a Dangerous Parasite
If you've been feeling sick over the past couple of months, it may be due to a parasite that typically causes more illnesses in the summer months. According to the Centers for Disease Control, they're investigating an "outbreak linked to a food source" which causes a diarrheal illness reportedly due to a parasite called Cyclospora cayetanensis, or cyclosporiasis.
