An Illinois woman didn't expect to win $1 million after buying a lottery ticket at her local Walmart. I guess when you save money you do, in fact, live better. Lots of tears have been shed since Pamela Arscott from Franklin Park, Illinois won a million dollars on a $10 scratch off ticket. She got to celebrate with her five children, ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. What a beautiful moment!

Pritzker signs bill creating new Department of Early Childhood
SPRINGFIELD – Gov. JB Pritzker signed legislation Tuesday creating a new cabinet-level state agency dedicated to early childhood education and development. The new Department of Early Childhood, which will become operational in July 2026, will take over programs currently housed across three state agencies, including funding for preschool programs, child care centers and the licensing of day care centers.
