Former President Donald Trump announced that Barron Trump is attending the Stern School of Business at New York University in Manhattan this fall.

Barron Trump’s decision to attend NYU’s elite business school was confirmed by his father’s interview with the Daily Mail, which was released Wednesday. The former president’s son was spotted arriving in New York City this week for the start of his first semester.

The former president said Barron Trump is “a very smart guy” who decided on “Stern, the business school, which is a great school at NYU” after being accepted into “a lot of colleges.”

The news came after Donald Trump noted that Barron Trump had settled on a choice earlier this month during an interview with the New York Post.

“He’s all set in a certain school that’s very good,” the former president said on Aug. 20. “He’s always been a very good student, he’s smart.”

Barron Trump is the only child of the former president and his wife, Melania Trump. He is Donald Trump's youngest child, following Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump with his first wife, Ivana Trump, and his youngest daughter, Tiffany Trump, with his second wife, Marla Maples.

“He’s no longer a child. He just passed into something beyond childdom,” the former president said of Barron Trump’s, 18, entrance into his college years. “He’s doing great.”

Barron Trump’s enrollment at NYU marks his departure from his family’s tradition of attending the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. His father and Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump, his half-siblings, attended Wharton. Barron Trump’s half-sister, Tiffany Trump, also attended the UPenn.

“I went to Wharton, and that’s certainly one we were considering,” Donald Trump reflected. “We didn’t do that. We went to Stern.”

The former president appeared to approve of his youngest son’s trailblazing move during his latest comments.

“It’s a very high-quality place,” Donald Trump said of the college Barron Trump selected. “He liked the school. We like NYU. I’ve known NYU for a long time. But it’s one of the highest-rated.”

Barron Trump is rarely seen on the campaign trail with his father but received a standing ovation while making an appearance during a Florida rally in July.

The former president has credited Barron Trump with helping to promote his presidential campaign to new and younger audiences through a flurry of recent appearances on podcasts and interviews with influencers.

“Tell Barron I said thanks,” Generation Z influencer Theo Von told Donald Trump as he wrapped up a long-form interview with the former president last week.

His comments came after the former president told Von, “My son's a big fan of you,” at the start of their conversation.

Von has a 7 million-plus Instagram following. The influencer’s post about his conversation with Donald Trump on X reached nearly 42 million views on the social media platform.

Last week, the former president continued to indicate his youngest son was instrumental in expanding his base and bringing “tremendous success” to his campaign.

"Adin Ross, you know, I mean, I do some people that I wasn't so familiar with, different generation. He knows every one of them,” Donald Trump declared as he praised Barron Trump for exposing him to the influencer. “He knows so much about it," the former president commented.

Adin Ross is another Gen Z influencer with millions of followers who interviewed Trump this month.

The pair's live stream hit 580,000 live viewers at its peak, which made it the third most concurrently viewed stream on the social media platform Kick in 2024.
