PARR acquires Rochester True Value Hardware & Lumber

Who doesn’t love the idea of running among the dahlias in the Fall? Maybe this is the year that the 2024 Canby Dahlia Run 5k/10k should be added to your Fall race calendar. This year, the event will be held on September 14th and there’s a course change ahead. Swan Island Dahlias, the largest grower of dahlias in the US, is the venue for the race this year. The course is relatively flat and will take place on paved public roads with a small stretch of gravel before finishing on grass pathway through the dahlia fields. Daryl Hall cuts concert short after falling ill
Daryl Hall was forced to cut his Thursday night concert short after not feeling well. The singer, one half of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame duo Hall & Oates, was performing in Vancouver when he walked off the stage after just three songs. A post on social media from his management revealed that he had started to feel ill during the show and later tested positive for COVID-19.

Portland police disband property crimes unit, sparking alarm among grocers, retail crime investigators
Over the last month, Portland police leaders have moved to disband a unit that investigated reports of burglaries, identity theft, embezzlement and organized retail crime. Last month’s move to reassign the unit’s members has alarmed state associations that represent grocers and retailers and deal with issues related to organized retail crime. The team of three detectives were transferred to the special victims and sex crimes units. A sergeant assigned to property crimes will move to patrol.
