    Pedestrian dead after Saturday evening crash on Magnolia Avenue

    KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A pedestrian is dead following a crash that closed Magnolia Avenue Saturday evening.

    The Knoxville Police Department shared that officers responded to a pedestrian-involved crash on Magnolia Avenue just after 8:50 p.m. on August 17. The 61-year-old victim was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with critical injuries and later pronounced dead.

    According to witness statements, the involved vehicle was driving through the intersection and had a green light. The crash caused the road to be closed between Bertrand Street and Myrtle Avenue until 10:54 p.m.
