KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Tennessee football is back this weekend, and gameday wouldn’t be the same without all the festivities that Vol fans have come to know and love. For those planning to flood Neyland and celebrate the return of college football season, here are legal traps that could ruin gameday.

One of the most likely ways to find yourself in hot water on gameday involves alcohol. According to the Isaacs Law Firm, 115 fans were arrested or removed from Neyland Stadium due to public intoxication, disorderly conduct, or liquor law violations last season, compared to 156 in 2022.

Underage drinking is one obvious way to get in trouble, either by being underage or supplying someone underage with alcohol. While the issue may seem like it only applies outside the game, in 2022 Neyland Stadium’s beer vendor, Aramark , was fined for selling alcohol to underage individuals.

For those over the age of 21, it’s also important to remember that public intoxication when a person or others may be in danger, or when it “unreasonably annoys people” is also a misdemeanor, the Isaac Law Firm explained.

In this week’s Ask Isaacs, 6 News’ Lori Tucker and Attorney Greg Isaacs discuss everything you need to know to avoid legal trouble while enjoying game day.
